In the stage of the Mostra Folklórica International Festival, organized by Bágoas da Terra, act every year many different first level groups, chorus and ballets from the 5 continents. The full colour view and the cultural fusion astonish the thousands of people which come to the main square of Viveiro every year to the Mostra edition. It is like a trip around the world in a three hours show.
In few minutes it is possible to change from the malabarisms of the Eastern Europe groups to the elegance and spirituality of the Asiatic, the African force, the South American rhytnthm, the exotism of the Pacific Islands, the liveliness and vigorous of the Galician dances, etc.

The enormous global quality of this show, the stage, the scenery, sound, illumination, facilities, etc. have granted to this festival an international prestige. Bágoas da Terra is very proud for having achieved Viveiro to have an important Festival like the ones organized in bigger cities. Therefore this Mostra is included in CIOFF (International Council of Organizations for Folklore Festivals and Folk Art)-UNO-UNESCO as a status B organism.

The great International Show is the golden end of the Mostra Folklórica which Bágoas da Terra organizes every first August Sunday. Each participant group live performance is composed by two blocks. In this two blocks try to summarize their heritage, costumes, way of living, culture, etc, of their countries. The great International Show lasts approximately 3 hours which are just like an instant for the spectators because of the impressive colourful views, rhythm and dances

All over these years it’s been plenty of participant groups in the International Mostra Folklórica of Bágoas da Terra. All of them opened every year a small door to let the Viveiro inhabitants dive into their culture, heritage and folk.

The “Mostra Folklórica” international Festival is the most important event that Bágoas da Terra organizes all over the whole year. First edition took place in the Main square of Viveiro in 1979. The Mostra in the very first beginning arose as a folklore festival and now is a great show of culture, dance, art and heritage. It takes place within many days, and the most important events are performed during the first weekend of August It starts with the Junior Mostra followed by the folk music concert, Nations parade, concerts all over the village, official reception, The “Aquelarre na eira das Meigas” (Theatre play about the magic spell of the traditional Galician witches) and the Great International Festival.
Bágoas da Terra has been organising the Mostra with non stop since 1979. It has been done lot of improvements from that beginning, being today a hi-category event. The participating groups are fully immersed in the village life, so the Mostra becomes this way in a very impressive cultural exchange The hundreds of people who belong to the international participating groups enjoy the charm of the Viveiro inhabitants and the marvellous surrounding nature. There is also a close relationship with the people from Bágoas da Terra.
In the Junior Mostra all the young local dancers categories of The dance School of Bágoas da Terra make their best, next to other junior dance groups of the shire and also next to special national and international guests. The music folk concert shows our music and traditional songs with instrumentation more complex than the traditional one. With our own arrangements and even our own creations. In this section we can listen to very old-fashioned instruments like the zanfoña and bagpipes, accordion, piano, violins, flutes and guitars, etc.
In the Official Reception all the authorities leaded by the Major, in company of the Festival director, welcome all the participants and are given with typical meals and handmade goods. Afterwards there is a reception cocktail. The group concerts of all the participants around the streets and squares offer a live show of the music and typical sings of every country. It is also possible to enjoy the instrumentation and heritage through the musician perform of all dance groups
Bágoas da Terra offers all this kind of culture and tradition expression for free, but for the great international show the places are numbered and you have to ask for the free tickets the day before. All the Mostra Folklórica shows are open to everybody because Bágoas da Terra wants the major number of people to enjoy it. This is the International Mostra Folklórica of Viveiro.
